The Brenda Landon Pye Portrait Prize

Chelsea College of Art & Design gratefully acknowledges the support of Martin & Gail Griffiths who wished to commemorate the memory of the artist Brenda Landon Pye, who studied at Chelsea School of Art in the 1920s. To read about her life and work, click on her photo.
Brenda Landon Pye died, at the age of 97, in 2005. A year later her daughter Gail and grandson Martin Griffiths announced this annual prize, to be awarded to a current Chelsea student, for a portrait or other figuratve painting or drawing of the human form.
The competition, open to all students at ChelseaCollege of Art & Design, has attracted a wide range of entries in its first four years, stimulating students to produce inventive and insightful work.
